Reconstruction of the Pronto Pizza Muralto site

Reconstruction of the Pronto Pizza Muralto eCommerce site with WordPress and WooCommerce

Table of Contents

How Swiss Web Studio rebuilt a new WordPress and WooCommerce foundation from fragmented data and incomplete materials.

The Pronto Pizza Muralto project was not a traditional migration: at the time of the changeover, a complete and usable technical backup was not available for Swiss Web Studio. The work therefore required the retrieval, normalization and controlled reconstruction of catalog, customers, orders, content and configurations.

The project in brief

  • Client: Pronto Pizza Muralto
  • Technical Partner: Swiss Web Studio
  • Scope: WordPress and WooCommerce reconstruction, data recovery, online ordering and technical SEO
  • Scenario: absence of a complete WordPress backup, SQL database, wp-config.php and original set of plugins
  • Approach: repeatable imports, source traceability, technical checks and administrative confirmation for sensitive data

The initial situation

When Swiss Web Studio took over the project, there was no complete package available with which to perform a standard WordPress migration. Essentials such as a complete SQL database, the wp-config.php file, the original set of plugins and the entire operational configuration of the Delivery/Take Away system were missing.

However, there were several partial sources: product, customer and order exports, categories, attributes and variations, XML/JSON Elementor files, a media archive, OpenPOS configurations and SEO metadata. The task was to transform these heterogeneous materials into a new installation that was consistent, verifiable and maintainable.

Goal: Rebuild without inventing

The goal was not to blindly copy the old site, but to rebuild a clean base while preserving recoverable data and precisely signaling what required a customer decision.

Operating principle: No critical delivery settings were inferred or invented. Times, zones, costs and rules had to have an identifiable source or be marked as “REQUIRES CONFIRMATION”. Before the application, there was a preview, explicit confirmation from the administrator and the possibility of recovery.

The

Swiss Web Studio reconstruction method set up a phased pipeline, separating analysis, import and verification. The imports were designed to be repeatable without generating duplicates, through persistent mappings and hash-based checks.

  1. Analysis of sources. Verification of the environment, classification of available files and comparison between exports, Elementor content, media, WooCommerce data and historical sources.
  2. Repair and normalization. Cleaning of data structures, reconciliation of categories, attributes, products and variations, and preparation of dependencies before import.
  3. WooCommerce reconstruction. Progressive import of catalog, customers and historical orders, followed by the configuration of tools intended for sales and operational management.
  4. Restoration of the experience. Reconstruction of Elementor pages and templates, menus, header and footer, with retrieval and association of the available media.
  5. Technical SEO and quality control. Metadata retrieval, URL and link checks, responsive design checks, purchase flow, PHP errors, and missing resources.

The data retrieved and organized

The available sources included about 140 rows related to WooCommerce products and variations: about 54 simple products, 27 variable products and 59 variations. There were also about 1,340 customers, historical orders, pages and templates, headers and footers, menus and thousands of multimedia files.

These numbers describe the source material and do not constitute a statement of absolute completeness. Each data set has been treated as a source to be validated, not as an automatic guarantee of integrity.

Technologies and components

  • WordPress and WooCommerce as the basis of the new environment.
  • Elementor Pro for pages, templates, headers and footers.
  • Product Table, OpenPOS and Delivery & Pickup system for operational workflows linked to orders.
  • SEOPress for retrieving and managing SEO metadata.
  • Infomaniak for domain, hosting and mail in the take-over phase.
  • Wayback Machine used exclusively as a historical source of comparison, when necessary.

Data privacy and security

The presence of customer data and historical orders required a prudent process. Temporary uploads were secured, migration files removed when operations were complete, and no transfer of customer data to unnecessary external AI services or APIs was expected. The tools developed do not include telemetry.

For the purchase flow tests, a controlled order method has been provided, without real payments. This makes it possible to verify the catalog, cart, checkout and operating logic, reducing the risk during checks.

Quality controls

  • Catalog: categories, attributes, products, variations, prices and media associations.
  • Purchase: cart, checkout and test mode without real payment.
  • Operation: Delivery/Take Away, time slots and values subject to confirmation.
  • Contents: pages, Elementor templates, menus, headers, footers and responsive design.
  • Technical SEO: metadata, URLs, available redirects, internal links and missing resources.
  • Stability: PHP errors, broken links and behavior after repeated imports.

What was delivered

  • a migration plugin dedicated to controlled data reconstruction;
  • a complementary component for delivery settings;
  • the Product Table configuration in JSON format;
  • Elementor templates for the new structure;
  • the Delivery configuration in JSON format, with verified values or to be confirmed;
  • a migration report to document activities, controls and open points.

The role of Swiss Web Studio

Swiss Web Studio followed the project as a direct technical contact, coordinating analysis of the sources, reconstruction of the environment, development of import tools and verifications. The value of the work lies not only in the new site, but in the ability to make a fragmented initial situation readable and controllable.

Domain management reflects the same progressive approach: on 19 August 2026, Swiss Web Studio activated the provisional domain prontopizza-muralto.ch; on 21 August, the prontopizzamuralto.ch domain and its mail were transferred to the Infomaniak account managed by Swiss Web Studio.

A clearer basis for future work

The project shows that, even when a complete backup is lacking, it is possible to organise a professional reconstruction if verified data, historical sources and information yet to be confirmed are rigorously distinguished. The new basis has been designed to be documented, controllable and easier to maintain over time.

This case study describes the technical process and the reconstructed materials. It does not attribute increases in traffic, ranking, speed or conversions in the absence of comparable measurement.
